6.5 Creedmoor Rifle Kit
An AR capable of reaching 1,000 meters or more.
The AR-10 and LR-308 helped make the AR platform a proper bench rifle, but the .308 Winchester load chambered in those guns can only do so much. For serious shooters who want to remove all limiting factors from their rifle and ring steel at record-setting distances, a 6.5 Creedmoor AR is the one to build. Our Creedmoor kits are carefully configured to afford any shooter just that: Reliable accuracy beyond what the AR could ever do before.
What is 6.5 Creedmoor?
The Creedmoor cartridge is a high-performance round designed specifically to fit in semiautomatic short-action rifles -- specifically, the .308 AR platform. Although it provides virtually twice the accuracy as .308 Winchester up to 1,000 meters, it still utilizes most .308 parts. That includes the upper and lower receivers, lower parts kit, buffer system and buttstock, and handguards. Only the bolt, extractor, and barrel are different between the two cartridges.
Why our 6.5 Creedmoor AR Kits
- All carbon barrels forged from MIL-B-11595 E steel (4150 or CMV/Chromoly Vanadium)
- All carbon barrels and chambers treated with Nitride (Melonite) or Phosphate coating
- All stainless / match barrels forged from Crucible 416R steel for sub-MOA accuracy
- All bolt carrier groups (BCGs) full-auto, staked, M16 profile, chrome-lined
- All stripped upper receivers forged from mil-spec 7075 T6 aluminum
- All buffer assemblies and lower parts kits are mil-spec in fit and finish
Completing Your Creedmoor Rifle Build
Our Creedmoor kits include all the parts necessary to assemble your new rifle, except for the firearm component of the AR platform: The stripped lower receiver. You have two choices in obtaining a stripped lower to assembly your rifle. You may purchase a stripped receiver from an FFL, or you can fabricate a .308 80% lower (available here) with a .308 jig.
Are These Creedmoor AR Kits Considered Firearms?
Under federal law, no, they are not. These kits do not include any firearm and can ship to most states. Some states have attempted to reclassify AR-15 parts and kits that do not include the firearm component (a stripped lower receiver) as a firearm, anyway. Such state laws run contrary to ATF policy and well-established federal law. Before ordering, make sure we can ship to your state by reading our shipping restrictions on the Shipping & Returns pages.
