1911 80 Frame
The 1911 is one of the most popular handguns ever designed and sold. With advancements in the 80% market, it was high time this old gun got the modern at-home-gunsmithing treatment. These 1911 80% frames allow any amateur builder with no knowledge or experience to fabricate a quality, lightweight, rugged 1911 frame from scratch with basic tools in one to two hours.
What is a 1911 80% Frame?
It's not a firearm under federal law. The law says the frame of the handgun is the only part normally considered a firearm. But since these 80% frames aren't drilled to accept a trigger or parts, and they're not cut to accept a barrel and slide, they're not functional. The ATF says such frames are considered "blanks" and are legal, but are not regulated. Your job is to make it a firearm. Doing that is pretty easy, thanks for something called a jig.
State Laws May Vary
Contrary to federal law, some states have either restricted or banned the sale, transfer, and ownership of 80% lowers, firearm blanks, and other gun parts. Because of these restrictions, we cannot ship our products to certain states. Please confirm whether your state is restricted on our Shipping & Return Policy before placing an order. We cannot fulfill orders to restricted states if placed.
How to Complete your 1911 Frame
You'll need to cut and drill your frame blank to make it a functional firearm by definition. That means:
- Cutting the slide rails
- Cutting the barrel seat
- Drilling the hammer pin hole
- Drilling the sear pin hole
To complete these four steps, simply pair up your 80% frame with the Stealth Arms 1911 Jig. The jig provides a stable machining station for completing your frame. It includes pre-drilled guide holes for drilling the pin holes, and it comes with a handheld carbide-bladed cutting tool for cutting the slide rails and barrel seat by hand.
Frame Configurations and Compatibility
Each 80% 1911 frame is made from quality forged 7075-T6 aluminum, with either a mil-spec matte black Type III hardcoat anodized finish, or a raw bead-blasted finish which allows you to add a custom coating or paint job! Each frame is based on the Springfield 1911's original design, so your finished frame will be compatible with virtually all 1911 retail parts, including custom barrels, slides, triggers, internals, and magazines. Frames are available in the classic Government (5") profile or compact Commander (4.25") profile, chambered in original .45 ACP or 9mm Parabellum.
If you want to purchase all the parts required to assemble your 1911 and make it ready for the range in a single sitting, you can: We offer quality 1911 parts kits for all frame sizes and calibers which include all internals, a crisp trigger, a chromoly barrel, Novak sights, and classic textured grips.
Your custom 1911 build awaits.
