Completing your pistol build with the AR-9 lower is so easy because it works with existing black rifle parts on the market! The AR-9 80% lower is compatible with the following components:
- Upper Receiver: AR-15 w/ 9mm barrel
- Gas System: None
- Lower Parts Kit: AR-15
- Buffer System: AR-15/AR-9
- Magazine: Glock
Because the AR-9 functions with a blowback recoil system (not gas), you don't need to install a piston or gas system. All you need is a G-9 Hybrid or equivalent bolt carrier group.
Bolt Carrier Group
To use a standard lower parts kit and AR-15 hammer, install a bolt carrrier group that is ramped (illustrated right). The G-9 Hybrid is ramped. We also recommend choosing an H3 or Pistol Buffer (5 to 8 oz.) with a standard buffer spring and tube to ensure optimal cycling and functionality.
No FFL is required to purchase these 80 lower receivers. These 80 percent lowers are not considered a firearm and are compliant with the Gun Control Act of 1968. Not classified as firearms as defined in 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(3).
